Thank you.
And an opportunity to find what you're looking for.
Hello Curriculum Thinkers,
Chances are this is the last update you’ll read before you head off for a well deserved holiday.
It’s been a pleasure working with so many collaborative schools and colleagues this year.
We want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you.
And give you a heads up about something we’re working on to help you get the most out of the community.
Have a lovely Summer holiday. See you in September!
New role or changes in September?
If you’re moving onwards and upwards in September (congrats 🎉) and you don’t want to lose the ability to:
🔬 discover where great curriculum work’s happening based on data
💡learn from excellent curriculum thinking
📎 download and adapt 1650+ subject specific and whole school curriculum resources
🤝 ask the We Are In Beta team to help you find what you need whenever you need it…
New role(s) in September? Here’s how to update your email and profile & what to do in 4 scenarios for your team.
Do any of these apply to you?
1. You’re moving to a new school that’s already a member of Curriculum Thinkers
- ask your new Deputy/Assistant Head in charge of curriculum to send Fiona Flint - our Head of School Memberships - an email to fiona@weareinbeta.com and she can get you set up.
2. You’re moving to a new school next year that’s not a member of Curriculum Thinkers
- ask them ‘why not?!’ and send them this email so they can request a free trial here.
3. You’re in charge of curriculum at your school and you’ve got new recruits joining your team
- send Fiona Flint - our Head of School Memberships - an email to fiona@weareinbeta.com and she can get accounts updated.
4. You’re in charge of curriculum at your school and you want us to train your team on how to use the community
Early September’s slots are in short supply, so best to book early.
What curriculum related policies and resources do you want us to research?
"Writing policies is fun!" Said no one ever!
They're vital but a real headache. Solved often by Googling or visiting your friend's school website.
We've been working to help out. So far the We Are In Beta research team have researched:
Curriculum vision statements (subscription required)
This summer, to help you get lots of insight and save loads of time, we have a team of researchers doing more of these kinds of deep dives for you.
What policies or resources are you working on that we can find from successful schools and analyse for you?
Here are some requests we've received so far.
Assessment policy
Teaching and learning policy, frameworks and handbooks
Marking and feedback policy
Reading policy
Literacy policy
Numeracy policy
SEND across the curriculum policy
EAL across the curriculum policy
CIAG policy
PSHE / RSE policy
Curricula in specific subjects
If you’re working on any of these and want us to help you find examples from other successful schools…
Policies with the most votes will get our attention over the Summer.
📚🧠 Curriculum Thinking Week Summer 2023 - thank you!
Last week your fellow members very generously shared 150+ talks, 520 resources across 20 subject inside CurriculumThinking Week Summer 2023.
Talks and resources are now only available to speakers, their sponsors and members of the Curriculum Thinkers Community - if that’s you, you should have received an email confirming we’ve upgraded your membership this week.
If you’re neither a speaker nor a member, and you want some more time to access the learning inside, let us know here - we know how busy last week was.
Huge thank you to the 500+ of you who came, all the speakers who joined the line up, the colleagues who nominated them and the SLT sponsors who supported them.🙏
The scale of this kind of school to school learning would not be possible without you.
🙏 Thanks for making the Curriculum Thinkers Community so special this year.
The Curriculum Thinkers Community would not exist, or be possible without the generosity of your fellow members sharing their work and wisdom.
We want to say a massive thank you! Especially to the following:
